In light of the continued spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19), the Philippine Superliga has postponed all of its matches for the 2020 Grand Prix until further notice.
The league made the announcement on its official Twitter account, Thursday afternoon.
“After thorough deliberation regarding the COVID-19 outbreak, it is with a heavy heart that the PSL board has decided to postpone all games until further notice,” the post read.
The decision came days after President Rodrigo Duterte’s declaration that the Philippines is now under a state of Public Health Emergency.
“This is to minimize potential exposure and spread of the virus,” the post added.
It also came on the heels of the suspension of activities from other leagues such as the UAAP, NCAA, and PBA.
There is no schedule for the resumption of games at present, but the league vows to take things day-by-day in order to determine the course of action.
“The PSL will closely monitor the situation in order to determine the resumption of the games,” the post read.
