Nexplay demolishes Sunsparks to rule Wild Rift SEA Icon: Preseason

Nexplay Esports manhandled Sunsparks through a lopsided 4-0 victory to grab the Philippine title in the Southeast Asia Icon Series 2021: Preseason last Sunday.

Jungler Juschie “Juschie” Tan, who won a total of five Most Valuable Player plums in the two-day preseason tourney, spearheaded the one-sided 20-5 Game Four victory playing Gragas. He finished with two kills and 13 assists without a single death.

Jovannie “Ooozee” Colong put up nine kills and five assists against a death with Kai’sa while Miguel “Arisen” Pison finished the match with four kills, a death, and six assists.

Game Four lasted for just 13 minutes and six seconds.

Juschie’s Camille led Nexplay Esports to a 23-8 Game One victory against Sunsparks while Aaron “Chuley” Bingay’s Zags led the 30-5 Game Two domination. Arisen’s Akali then rose to Nexplay’s defense in Game Three, leading a 17-7 win to put the former Aether Rift squad a win away from sealing their name as the best squad in the Philippines.

Nexplay Esports thrashed Liyab Esports via a 3-0 beating in the quarterfinals before dispatching Team Secret in the semifinals, 3-1, and enter the grand finals.

Sunsparks, on the other hand, took care of BREN Esports first in the quarterfinals with a 3-0 sweep before taking down Rex Regum Qeon in the semis in a 3-1 decision.

Nexplay Esports bagged a total of $2,500 while Sunsparks settled for $1,250. Team Secret, who finished at third place, took home $750, while fourth placer RRQ had $500.
