MPL PH: Onic stays alive, sweeps NXPE

Onic Philippines nabbed a much-needed win in Week 6 of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) Philippines Season 11 after a 2-0 conquest on Nexplay Evos to keep their playoff hopes alive on Sunday.

They improved to 12pts (4-7) and leapfrogged NXPE (3-7), who has 11pts, for the 6th spot. Only the top six in the regular season standings will move on to the playoffs.

Despite losing to Echo a day prior, the loss actually became Onic’s catapult and standard where they gained confidence in taking down NXPE.

“Sa tingin ko, we really actually played well tonight.

“Yung Game two talaga is actually sobrang ganda (ng performance namin). From there parang yun na yung ginawa naming basis tas dun kami kumuha ng parang…yun na yung sinundan namin na ‘Okay confident tayo. Kahapon pa malinis yung laro natin. Kaya natin i 2-0 yung Minana.”

Onic played a calculated early game banking on Frince Miguel “SUPER FRINCE” Ramirez’s initiations to control the tempo, highlighted by a 14th-minute double kill as they secured the luminous lord and established a significant net worth lead.

Kenneth “Nets” Barro also piloted Onic’s superb play with pinpoint executions of the Blazing Duet en route to an immaculate 3-0-4 KDA in the opening win.

SUPER FRINCE (Valentina) continued with his superb exploits in Game 2, taking all four kills in the first 10 minutes to help Onic secure the first lord of the match.

Onic played meticulously from there, conceding only one death, to complete the sweep.
