Tamayo named to KBL Mythical Team, Cagulangan wins Rookie of the Year


Carl Tamayo and JD Cagulangan earned their first-ever individual awards as professionals on Wednesday.

Tamayo was named to the 2024-25 KBL Mythical Team, while Cagulangan was honored as Rookie of the Year during the KBL Awards Ceremony.

Tamayo, who plays for Changwon LG, averaged 15.1 points and 5.8 rebounds per game, helping the Sakers finish second in the elimination round with a 34-30 record.

Cagulangan, in his stellar rookie season with Suwon KT, averaged 7.3 points, 3.3 assists, 2.4 rebounds, and 1.5 steals, leading the Sonicboom to the fourth seed with a 33-21 record.

Joining Tamayo in the Mythical Team were Kim Sunhyung, An Youngjun, Jameel Warney, and Assem Marei. An Youngjun was named MVP, while Warney took home the Best Import award.
