ONIC PH got back on the winning track through a 2-0 sweep of Bren Esports in the MPL Philippines Season Nine, Saturday night.
The MPL Philippines Season Eight grand finalist upped its slate to 2-1 with five points. It ties the 2-1 Nexplay EVOS at the fourth spot.
Kairi “Kairi” Rayosdelsol (Hayabusa) botched a split push attempt. Then ONIC PH – who was already up by 9K in the gold department – took down the Luminous Lord in the 15:13-mark.
Bren Esports countered with a pick off on Kairi after the objective, but Angelo “Pheww” Arcangel’s Lylia also fell down in the process. That gave ONIC PH the perfect chance to convert the final siege to a win.
It was not all sunshine and butterflies for ONIC PH, though. They had to fend off the early game exploits of David “FlapTzy” Canon’s Gloo and Kenneth “Saxa” Fedellin’s Lancelot.
Kairi finished with seven kills and three assists against one death in the 12-5 Game One win in 16 minutes and 21 seconds. Meanwhile, Marky “Markyyyyy” Capacio’s Wanwan had a 4-1-5 KDA line.
ONIC PH once again dominated Bren Esports in the early game come Game Two. It pushes its gold lead to as much as 7K by the 15-minute mark.
The team eventually bagged the series following a Luminous Lord take at the 16:49-minute mark.
Markyyyyy’s Beatrix dropped seven kills and seven assists against one death. Kairi’s Ling had seven kills as well to go along with six assists and a death in the dominant 18-6 Game Two win in 18 minutes and 16 seconds.
Bren Esports have yet to secure a match in three series. It fell to the last spot in the standings with a 0-3 slate.
ONIC PH will go up against Omega Esports on Friday at 8:00 PM. Meanwhile, Bren Esports will take on Nexplay EVOS tomorrow at 6:00 PM.
