Gab Delos Reyes, the reigning UAAP Juniors Finals MVP, will spearhead the Gilas Pilipinas Boys squad in the FIBA Under-16 Asia Cup 2025 SEABA Qualifiers, set to take place at the Bren Z. Guiao Convention Center in San Fernando, Pampanga.
Delos Reyes will lead a group of rising stars aiming to secure one of the three Southeast Asian spots for the continental tournament, which will be held later this year in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.
Joining him in the national team are UST guard and UAAP Mythical Team member Andwele Cabanero, UPIS standout and UAAP 19-and-Under Rookie of the Year Jhustin Hallare, Far Eastern University-Diliman’s Prince Carino and CP Miranda, his UE teammate Jolo Pascual, and NUNS transferee Travis Pascual.
Gilas Pilipinas legend LA Tenorio is also set to make his coaching debut with the national youth squad in this competition.
Rounding out the roster are Ethan Tan-Chi of Faith Academy, Jhello Lumague of Letran, Everaigne Cruz of San Sebastian, Jeremiah Antolin of St. Augustine Institute of Pampanga, and John Restificar of Perpetual Help.
Those who didn’t make the final cut include Brian Orca, Dwayne Khobuntin, Sacred Toring, Goodluck Okebata, Samuel Esomchi, and Rajver Sidhu.
The Philippines will open its campaign against Vietnam on Saturday, followed by matches against Thailand on Sunday and Singapore on Monday. After a one-day break, the team will face Indonesia and Malaysia.
The final is scheduled for Friday.
