Manila Digger returned to Philippines Football League action last Wednesday and secured another three points with a 3-1 victory over Aguilas UMak at the Rizal Memorial Stadium.
Fresh off their AFC Challenge League quarterfinal win over Dewa United, Digger had to dig deep after conceding early.
Mikailou Djibrilla gave Aguilas the lead in the 12th minute, breaking through on goal before rifling a shot past Omar Njie.
Baboucarr Touray brought Digger level in the 37th minute, slotting the ball home after Richard Talaroc failed to clear his lines.
Ousman Gai then completed the turnaround on the stroke of halftime, rising for a composed header.
Kenji Nishioka extended the lead in the 54th minute, finishing cleanly at the near post to lift Digger to fourth place with 33 points from 13 matches.
In the other match, Cyrelle Saut’s 70th-minute strike canceled out Yohan Mbida’s opener as Tuloy FC and Valenzuela PB-Mendiola settled for a 1-1 draw.
League action resumes today, with Digger taking on DB Garelli United at 3:00 p.m., while Valenzuela PB-Mendiola face league leaders One Taguig at 5:45 p.m., before Stallion Laguna meet Tuloy at 8:30 p.m.
