EJ Sapasap is headed for a bigger stage.
The 6-foot-2 swingman has transferred from Mapua University to National University.
The 22-year-old from Concepcion, Tarlac, announced his decision to leave the Cardinals on Friday, while NU confirmed his commitment three days later.
Sapasap was one of the few bright spots for Mapua during a disappointing NCAA Season 101 campaign.
In his rookie year, he averaged 8.8 points, 4.0 rebounds, 1.8 assists, and 1.33 steals over 16 games.
He will sit out one year before becoming eligible to play in UAAP Season 90 and still has two years of eligibility remaining.
This marks another tough departure for Mapua’s program, now under the guidance of Chito Victolero.
Earlier this year, JC Recto, Drex Delos Reyes, and Joe Gulapa also left the program.
