Stallion Laguna and Aguilas UMak secured victories in Sunday’s Philippines Football League action at the Rizal Memorial Stadium.
Finn McDaniel scored four goals to lead Stallion Laguna to a commanding 5-1 win over Philippine Army.
McDaniel opened the scoring in the third minute and doubled the lead in the 25th minute, giving Stallion a 2-0 advantage at halftime.
Jimuel Ariola pulled one back for Army with a superb strike early in the second half, but McDaniel completed his hat-trick in the 63rd minute to restore control.
Amir Memari added a fourth goal in the 86th minute before McDaniel capped his night with his fourth goal late in the match.
“We kept working, we kept scoring, but we’re capable of more—it’s gotta be more for Stallion,” said McDaniel, who earned Man of the Match honors.
In the second fixture, Aguilas UMak climbed back to sixth place with a 3-0 triumph over DB Garelli United.
Pedro De Paula opened the scoring in the 25th minute, with Issa Diallo doubling the lead seven minutes later. An own goal by Garelli’s Pape Traore in the 74th minute sealed the win for Aguilas.
League action resumes on Wednesday, February 25, at the Rizal Memorial Stadium, with Philippine Army facing Tuloy at 4:00 p.m., followed by Manila Digger taking on Garelli at 7:00 p.m.
