Last weekend, Pacific Xtreme Combat flyweight champion Jenel Lausa (MMA: 6-2, Boxing: 6-0, 4KO) continued on to his winning ways. However, the win did not come from the terrordome. Instead, he did it inside the boxing ring with a first round TKO victory over Roy Lagrada in a bout that only lasted for 77 seconds.
Coming out with guns blazing right from the opening bell, Lausa unleashed a barrage of hard punches against Lagarda to notch his sixth straight victory in his other career as a pro-boxer. In addition, this was his first win under the Black Unicorn banner which impressed no less than his new boxing coach, Boy Sonsona.
Barely a month in his new “home” in the hollow confides of the Makati Cinema Square, Sonsona shared that he was impressed with the Iloilo-native’s performance in the squared circle. Okay na siya ngayon, nag-traitraining kami araw-araw,” he said to Tiebreaker TImes.
Apart from the natural talent he possesses, Sonsona was astonished about how dedicated Lausa is in learning despite already being a champion in mixed martial arts. A trait which he believes is one of the keys in becoming an elite fighter.

He certainly believes that boxing played a major role in his success in mixed martial arts and hopes that he would have the same success as a two-discipline athlete.
