Kentucky ‘in daily contact’ with Sage Tolentino

After failing to recruit Kai Sotto, John Calipari and University of Kentucky are looking at another Filipino big man.

Jack Pilgrim of Kentucky Sports Radio reported that the officials of the Wildcats, headed by associate head coach Kenny Payne, are “in daily contact” with 7-foot-1 prospect Sage Tolentino.

Tolentino is an incoming Grade 11 student at Maryknoll High School. The 16-year-old will be part of the 2022 batch.

Tolentino led the Spartants to their second straight state title in Hawaii. There, he dropped monster numbers of 13.5 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 3.5 blocks during the season.

Another school that looks to recruit him is Auburn. Yes — another school that tried to tap Kai Sotto.
