Kai Sotto visits University of Auburn

The courtship of Kai Sotto continued Wednesday morning (Manila time).

This time around, the 7-foot-2, 17-year-old paid a visit to Division 1 school University of Auburn.

The welcoming of the school based in Alabama was headlined by none other than Tigers head coach Bruce Pearl and coach and distinguished alumnus Wes Flanigan.

Sotto was toured around the campus and was given a pitch centered around family.

“Family is everything,” tweeted Sotto moments after the “unofficial” visit.

Over the past two years, Auburn has made strides to its program, making it to the NCAA tournament for two straight years after missing the last 14 editions of the annual meet. In 2019, the Tigers made it to the Final Four before being knocked out by top seed Virginia.

Notable alumni of the program include Charles Barkley, Chuck Person, Eddie Johnson, and Mike Mitchell.

Other schools that have expressed interest in recruiting Sotto are University of Kentucky, Georgia Tech, and DePaul.

Sotto is set to arrive in the country next week as he joins Mighty Sports in the 2020 Dubai International Basketball Championship.
