James De Los Santos bagged another trifecta of golds to fortify his hold of world no. 1.
The veteran internationalist copped three more golds in the ongoing SportData E-Tournament World Series to raise his collection to 33, after results came in Monday evening.
De Los Santos took down familiar foe Matias Moreno-Domont, 25.34 of Suparinpei against 24.48 of Suparinpei, in the finals of the third leg of the Okinawa E-Tournament World Series.
The 30-year-old Filipino standout earlier advanced into the gold medal match after topping Pool 2 with four competitors. De Los Santos scored 25.32 to dominate the group, which includes usual rivals South African Silvio Cerone-Biagioni and USA’s Alfredo Bustamante.
The two-time ISKF World Champion also won gold in the third Dutch Open Tournament after defeating Cerone-Biagioni, 24.4 in Unsu over 23.8 of Anan Dai.
De Los Santos earlier went up Kevin Coomer of Sweden and Moreno-Domont in the first two rounds to advance to the finals.
The two-time Southeast Asian Games bronze medalist captured his third gold of the night after taking the Finale of the Athlete’s E-Tournament. There, he slipped past Bustamante, 25.66-25.06, in the gold medal match.
He earlier captured the top seed after winning the seeding pool with 25.64 over Bustamante, Cerone-Biagioni, and Moreno-Domont.
His student, Fatima A-Isha Hamsain also won two medals. The 14-year-old won gold in female U15 and bronze in the female U18 division in the same Okinawa tournament.
