James De Los Santos continues his mastery over the SportData E-Tournament World Series.
The 31-year-old Filipino karateka defeated USA’s Alfredo Bustamante in the finals, 25.2-24.3 of the fourth leg of the series as results came in on Sunday.
The title is De Los Santos’ 25th of the year and 61st consecutive overall. This dates back to the very same tournament last year, where his golden streak started.
Using his go-to form Unsu, the two-time ISKF world champion fared better over the American’s Chatanyara Kusanku Arawaza in the final to secure the win.
The Filipino standout earlier edged out perennial rival Matias Moreno Dormont of Switzerland in the Round of 16, 24.8-24. He later took down Canada’s Jimmy Baillargeon, 24.9-23.8, in the quarterfinals.
De Los Santos then got the nod of the judges over South Africa’s Silvio Cerone-Biagioni. The two initially drew level on points at 24.6. The Filipino edged out his foe, 3-2.
Earlier, De Los Santos also won the International ENDAS Karate Trophy #2 for his 24th gold.
De Los Santos still has 12 more e-kata tournaments slated for the year.
