After taking his 45th gold in record fashion just last week, James De Los Santos made it to double digits for the year.
The two-time ISKF world champion proved that he is one of the best, if not the best, in the shotokan style after taking his 10th gold of 2021 and his second of the E-Karate World Series, Sunday evening.
De Los Santos went live on the Kumu streaming app to share his victory over perennial foe in South African Silvio Cerone-Biagoni albeit by default as the latter’s video was rejected by the judges.
The 30-year-old veteran internationalist also carved a similar win over second-running Matias Moreno Dormont in the semifinals, to book his place in yet another gold medal match.
On the other hand, Cerone-Biagoni earlier defeated Germany’s Kevin Pfannenstiel, 24.24-22.9, and Greece’s Konstantinos Vasilakis, 24-22.2, to set up a showdown against De Los Santos.
The two-time Southeast Asian Games bronze medalist took the first leg of the tournament series after his 25.6-24.4 victory over Moreno Dormont.
