Fajardo is now the second player to win back-to-back Phil Cup BPC, once again cementing his status as the most dominant player in the PBA.
On Wednesday night, the 6-foot-10 slotman won his second Philippine Cup Best Player of the Conference award, becoming the first player since Nelson Asaytono to win it back-to-back in the Philippine Cup.
The reigning MVP from San Miguel Beer won the award convincingly over Calvin Abueva of Alaska and teammate Arwind Santos. Fajardo won in three out of four clusters – the stats, media votes and players. He compiled a total of 1141, almost 300 more than Abueva, his closest pursuer.
Abueva, who won the tallying in the PBA’s voting body, finished with 889 to lose the award for the second time against the same player.
Santos, who’s been a consistent performer for his team all conference long ended up with 523.
