Team Liquid PH settled for a fourth place finish after falling to Myanmar’s Terror Queens, 3-0, in the battle-for-third of the MLBB Women’s Invitational (MWI) 2025 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on Saturday.
Game 1 boiled down to a crucial lord fight late in the 20th minute where Myanmar’s Hsu “KUU” Zin (Gatotkaca) unveiled a timely Avatar of the Guardian set-up play on the lord pit to spark CKOSHII’s (Irithel) double kill.
That proved to be the decisive play as Terror Queens easily marched onto the midlane to mount a successful base turret siege and take the opener, 1-0.
It looked like an equalizer was on the way when TLPH scored three unanswered pickoffs in the 19th minute but their overextension in the enemy jungle led to a Lynn “LunaLynn” Naing (Kimmy) double kill.
Indonesian import Vebi “RUII” Febrian (Yi Sun Shin) then closed it out with a double kill of her own midway through the 20th minute to complete a 5-for-none wipeout and reach matchpoint, 2-0.
Game 3 was another tight battle but Terror Queens managed to outmacro the Filipinas, securing all the lord objectives before closing it out 4-for-none wipe during a 16th minute midlane ambush to complete the sweep.
Earlier in the tournament, TLPH swept the group stages to emerge as the top seed out of Group B after beating China’s Tidal Legends Gaming and NAVI MY.
They easily dispatched Saudi Arabia’s Twisted Minds Orchid in the quarterfinals, 2-0, before stumbling against the seasoned and multi-titled Team Vitality in the semi-finals.
