NAVI PH, Team Liquid Aqua sweep group stage to enter MWI playoffs

NAVI Philippines and Team Liquid each survived intense three-game thrillers to notch back-to-back victories in the group stage, securing their spots in the playoffs as the top seeds at the MLBB Women’s Invitational (MWI) 2025 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Team Liquid Aqua pulled off a scintillating 2-1 reverse sweep of NAVI Malaysia to book their spot in the top eight as the Group B leaders.

After succumbing to a close opening game loss, the Filipinas made their move in Game 2. MWI veteran Trinity “Ramici” Ramos delivered a sensational performance with the Hayabusa pick and finished with a flawless 6-0-6 KDA during an 11-minute victory to force the rubber match.

TL Aqua then went off in the decider and posted a lopsided 16-2 kill score led by Ramici’s 7-0-4 KDA performance on the Yi Sun Shin to complete the reverse sweep.

Meanwhile, NAVI PH labored through a gutsy performance from Myanmar’s Terror Queens to pull off a 2-1 victory and emerge as the Group C top seed.

They opened the series with a dominating performance on the way to an astounding 20-0 kill score in the tournament’s fastest game victory so far at nine minutes and 36 seconds.

After conceding Game 2, Sheen “SHINOA” Perez’s Melissa scored a triple kill during a 12th minute base turret siege to close out the series in emphatic fashion.

With both teams securing top seeds in their respective groups, the earliest possible all-Filipino match-up could take place in the semifinals.
