Blacklist International’s Andreij “Doujin” Abar has qualified for the Esports World Cup (EWC) after finishing third at CEO 2024 – Tekken 8.
Doujin became the second Filipino to represent the Philippines in Tekken 8 at the EWC, alongside Alexandre “AK” Laverez.
The Blacklist International Tekken 8 player earned his spot at the EWC because Japan’s Takaba Keisuke, who finished second, had already qualified at Dreamhack Sweden.
Following his last win at the 2017 IeSF World Championships, Doujin sought another taste of international competition, hoping to secure a place in the prestigious esports tournament through Dreamhack Dallas.
However, his goal ended early.
Seven years in the making, Doujin finally has the chance to represent the Philippine flag once again on the global stage.
The Esports World Cup – Tekken 8 will be held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from August 22 to August 25.
