Blacklist International parts ways with Dlar, three others

By: Jan Marcus Montevirgen

Blacklist International bid farewell to Gerald “Dlar” Trinchera, Dexter “Exort” Martinez, Kim “Kimpoy” Dela Cruz, and Mark “MarkTzy” Pagaduan on Friday, marking the end of an era for the organization.

Dlar, who recently returned to the Philippines to reignite his MLBB career, previously spent two seasons with EVOS Legends as a “Legends Creator.”

He later re-entered the professional scene with Burmese Ghouls for the *Games of the Future 2024*.

However, during MPL PH Season 14, he saw limited action, spending most of the tournament on the sidelines.

Unlike Dlar, Exort, Kimpoy, and MarkTzy were part of Blacklist’s active roster as the team struggled to establish its identity early in the MPL Philippines Season 14 regular season.

It wasn’t until the final weeks of the competition that Blacklist managed to turn things around, securing the last playoff spot.

In the playoffs, Blacklist relied on a revamped core lineup featuring Kiel “OHEB” Soriano, Michael “MP the King” Soriano, Salic “Hadji” Imam, Jhon “Lord JM” Sebastian, and John “Perkz” Sumawan.

The adjustments paid off as the team defied expectations with a commanding 3-0 victory over Smart Omega in the Play-Ins. However, their momentum was halted in the Upper Bracket Semifinals, where they suffered a heartbreaking 2-3 loss to Falcons AP.Bren in a tightly contested best-of-five series.

Blacklist’s Season 14 campaign came to an end in the Lower Bracket Semifinals with a crushing 0-3 defeat against Aurora, leaving them in 4th place.

Despite the challenges, the team showcased resilience and potential, making their journey one to remember.
