After ONIC heartbreak, Oheb’s MVP feels bittersweet

Kiel “Oheb” Soriano added another accolade to his decorated career on Friday after being named the regular season MVP of MPL Philippines Season 15.

It could have been a perfect moment for the former M3 World Championship MVP — had Team Liquid PH managed to overcome ONIC Philippines in their upper bracket finals clash held just before the awarding ceremony.

In an exclusive interview with Tiebreaker Times, Oheb admitted that it was difficult to fully process the recognition, coming off a heartbreaking loss with an MSC ticket at stake.

It was an unexpected recognition for Oheb, who is razor-focused on helping Team Liquid return to the international stage after getting booted out early in Season 14.

The 20-year-old gold laner expressed his gratitude to his teammates, whom he credited as the driving force behind the award, especially with this being his first season with the squad.

Oheb joined Team Liquid this season after an eight-season stint with Blacklist International that included three championships and an M-series world title.

He will have one last chance to lead Team Liquid PH to an international stint as they face Team Falcons PH in the lower bracket finals for the last PH ticket to the MSC 2025.
