Tanduay enters partnership with Brooklyn Nets, Barclays Center

Tanduay Distillers, Inc. have forged a historic partnership with NBA team Brooklyn Nets and its state-of-the-art home, the Barclays Center located on Atlantic Avenue in Brooklyn, New York.

The deal, the first of its kind for a Philippine-based company, will designate Tanduay Rum as the official rum of both the venue and the Mikhail Prokhorov-owned franchise.

“Tanduay is very proud to be part of this historic partnership, the first of its kind for a Filipino company,” Lucio Tan, Jr., President of Tanduay, remarked about the historic deal.

“Like Brooklyn, Tanduay shares a unique spirit and dynamic character that is anything but ordinary. Tanduay and Brooklyn are a natural fit, and we look forward to building our legacy together.”

Moreover, the 163-year-old company will be the presenting sponsor of the in-house sports bar of Barclays Center, the 40/40 Club and Restaurant. The chain is owned by hip-hop mogul Jay-Z.

“We are excited to partner with Tanduay Rum as Barclays Center and the Brooklyn Nets continue to go global,” said Brett Yormark, CEO of Brooklyn Sports & Entertainment.

“Partnering with Tanduay is a valuable opportunity to welcome an emerging international business into our arena that will enhance the overall experience of our fans.”

Tanduay will have a variety of signage integrated throughout the venue and will also be the associate sponsor of the arena’s Brooklyn Show platform.

To tip-off the partnership, Tanduay will host a post-game party and concert in Barclays Center’s 40/40 CLUB & Restaurant presented by Tanduay on Monday, March 12 (Philippine time), following the Nets versus New York Knicks game, which will be attended by celebrity influencers across the sports and entertainment industries.
