Recognizing the passion that Filipinos have for the game, NBA Philippines recently launched three original series on the NBA’s global YouTube channel — Republika Drip, Republika Huddle, and NBA On Fire – with weekly episodes that coincide with the 2021 NBA Playoffs.
Republika Drip made its debut last June 6.
The series focuses on the various aspects of basketball lifestyle including culture, fashion, and gaming.
In its pilot episode, Republika Drip host Jutt Sulit caught up with celebrity Billy Crawford, model LA Aguinaldo and radio DJ KC Montero to converse about sneakers, pregame outfits and NBA cards.
Another show is NBA on Fire — a weekly NBA recap show produced in a mix of Filipino and English language that offers fans a localized take in promoting game-related storylines, player milestones, and team updates throughout the postseason.
Hosted by radio DJs Slick Rick and Suzy Gamboa, the latest episode wrapped up NBA Playoff highlights last week featuring Damian Lillard’s 55-point masterpiece, Devin Booker’s closeout performance, Kevin Durant’s ascent in the playoff record books, and Trae Young’s encore in Madison Square Garden.
Last but not least is NBA Philippines staple Republika Huddle, a series hosted by Titan and SLAM Philippines EIC Nikko Ramos and NBA Hype co-host Boom Gonzalez conducting video conference calls with local influencers and sports personalities to discuss and debate the hottest NBA topics.
New episodes spotlight NBA Legends Gary Payton and Shawn Kemp reminiscing fond memories with the Seattle Supersonics, PBA player Gabe Norwood and Ateneo Blue Eagle Dave Ildefonso paying tribute to Jordan Clarkson’s Sixth Man campaign, and PBA Legends Benjie Paras and Ronnie Magsanoc discussing the renaissance of NBA big men.
Pinoy fans can watch the Philippines-exclusive shows Republika Drip, Republika Huddle and NBA On Fire on NBA YouTube every Sunday, Monday and Wednesday night respectively throughout the 2021 NBA Playoffs.
