Lindsay Stalzer is out to settle some unfinished business with F2 Logistics.
Stalzer and the Cargo Movers were poised to take the Philippine Super Liga Grand Prix title back in 2020 before the entire tournament was cut by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Now, despite being in a different league, the goal remains the same for the 38-year-old American.
And that is to deliver F2 Logistics to the promised land.
“We’ve got a lot going for us, especially with Kalei Mau and a bunch of returners. I’m excited to play with Kim Fajardo again. The last time I was here at F2 our season got cut short. I was very confident that we were gonna do well that season,” said Stalzer during the Reinforced Conference press conference at the Discovery Suites last Wednesday.
“So it feels like there’s a little bit that’s left undone and I’m here to finish that,” she added.
Stalzer first played in the Philippines back in 2014 with Cignal. She then led Foton and Petron to Philippine Super Liga titles before joining the Ramil De Jesus-coached F2 Logistics in 2019.
With her numerous trips back here in the country, Stalzer is confident that her familiarity with Philippine volleyball, as well as the Cargo Movers, will definitely be an asset in her first-ever PVL conference.
“Definitely. I think it’s always an advantage when you know the situation you’re getting into. You know how the league works, the style of play. You just know what to expect coming in so I think that’s a huge advantage and we can take advantage of that,” said Stalzer, who had stints with Cignal, Foton (now Chery Tiggo), and Petron.
The 6-foot-1 native of Kewanee, Illinois will rejoin an F2 Logistics squad that features former teammates Kalei Mau, Kianna Dy, Majoy Baron, Kim Fajardo, Dawn Macandili, and Aby Marano as well as new recruit Ivy Lacsina.
Welcoming Stalzer and the Cargo Movers back are the Chery Tiggo Crossovers on Tuesday at the PhilSports Arena.
“There are a few new faces but they adapted very well to us, the culture of F2. I love my teammates Kalei and all the other returning players, they’re really good at bringing out the best in the new girls. I’m proud of this team already for the work we put in. Now, we’re ready for the season to start and show what we’re ready to do,” she said.
“I’m excited for the new challenge but just ready to take on that challenge.”
