Former F2 Logistics team manager Hollie Reyes couldn’t be happier now that almost all of her former players with the Cargo Movers have found a new home ahead of the upcoming Premier Volleyball League All-Filipino Conference.
Last December, F2 Logistics decided to disband its team in the PVL and focus on its grassroots program, leaving its players without a squad almost two months before the season-opening conference.
“Well, sobra kong happy kasi, well, all of them have teams,” Reyes told Tiebreaker Times. “So even yung mga hindi masyado nagagamit, nakakuha sila ng bagong team.
“It was sad for me, but I’m also happy for them because this is also a growth out of the new system, out of the eight years with Coach Ramil (De Jesus) and F2 Logistics,” added Reyes, who also found a new team in the up-and-coming Capital1 along with Rovie Instrella.
Former F2 Logistics team captain Aby Maraño was signed by Chery Tiggo alongside Ara Galang, while Kianna Dy, Kim Fajardo, and Majoy Baron composed PLDT’s signing haul during the off-season.
Meanwhile, Dawn Macandili and Jovelyn Gonzalez are now part of Cignal while Myla Pablo, Ethan Arce, and Joy Dacoron went to Petro Gazz. Farm Fresh also got their much-needed pieces in Jolina Dela Cruz, Elaine Kasilag, and Chinnie Arroyo.
Former Cargo Movers who were also signed by other PVL clubs are Ivy Lacsina (Nxled), Shola Alvarez (Galeries Tower), and Mars Alba (Choco Mucho).
“It’s gonna be a good test for them as grown-ups and also as professional players na to take new challenges and new systems din,” said Reyes.
Reyes said that she’s very excited to see her former players play against one another in the PVL after witnessing the Chery Tiggo-Cignal match-up in the PNVF Champions League featuring Galang, Maraño, Macandili, and Fernandez.
“Actually, I did see them already do a faceoff in the PNVF Champions League. Maganda yung pinakita nila so it was Chery Tiggo versus Cignal so hindi sila nagpatalo. Ganun naman eh, yung rivalry nila healthy, they push each other kahit nasa magkabilang side na sila ng court,” she said.
Now that they have parted ways, Reyes has only one wish. And it’s for the Cargo Movers to continue carrying the legacy and culture that the F2 Logistics organization and coach Ramil De Jesus built over the years.
“Sana sa susunod nilang team or bago nilang team, magamit din nila yung mga natutunan nila with Coach Ramil and F2 Logistics.”
