Ricky Vargas to serve as PBA chairman for fourth straight season

For the fourth straight season, Ricky Vargas will still head the Philippine Basketball Association.

This as the former Philippine Olympic Committee president was re-elected as the chairman of the league during the two-day planning session of the league held from Monday to Tuesday.

The governor of TNT has been the league’s chairman since season 43. He was also the chairman of the league back in Season 32.

Also elected were Terrafirma’s Bobby Rosales and Alaska’s Dicky Bachmann as vice chairman and treasurer, respectively.

Composing the rest of the board are NLEX’s Rod Franco, San Miguel’s Robert Non, Northport’s Eric Arejola, Ginebra’s Alfrancis Chua, Blackwater’s Siliman Sy, Meralco’s Al Panlilio, Phoenix’s Raymon Zorrilla, Magnolia’s Rene Pardo, and Rain or Shine’s Mamerto Mondragon.

Willie Marcial will still be the commissioner for the fourth straight season

Vargas has become the longest-serving chairman since Carlos Palanca III of Barangay Ginebra and Rey Marquez of Shell assumed the position in 1983-86 and 1987-90, respectively.
