RSG Philippines head coach Brian “Panda” Lim admitted that he had been eyeing the experienced laner Christian “HEADS” Morada before the latter ultimately decided to join TNC Pro Team for the MPL Philippines Season 13.
“Dati, nung nasa Euphoria pa siya, I tried to recruit him. At that time, he still had a contract,” shared Panda in an exclusive interview with Tiebreaker Times.
“Then, when I wanted to acquire him this season, he chose TNC, which I completely respect because I’m trying to find a replacement for Nathzz if he makes different career decisions, and I felt like HEADS was a really good candidate.”
Despite TNC’s struggles this season, HEADS turned heads with his impressive rookie performance in the league.
Panda is not surprised by this development.
“Magaling siya sa mga mechanics. He can play yung mga heroes na kailangan ng magaling na mechanics tulad ng Benedetta, Paquito, Cici,” said Panda of HEADS.
“He has a very good attitude and personality. I feel like no matter how tilted the team is or how tilted he is, he’s able to keep his composure and reset also.”
Panda likened HEADS’ potential to that of MPL PH Season 9 playoff MVP Nathanael “Nathzz” Estrologo, especially given the former’s stellar showing prior to his MPL stint.
“I feel like he has really good communication. Even back in the amateur scene, he was completely dominating all the experienced laners. That’s where I was impressed because that’s how I also discovered Nathzz at first,” Panda elaborated.
Panda believes that HEADS already possesses all the qualities to be a very good experienced player.
Despite a disappointing finish to their Season 13 campaign, it will be intriguing to see how TNC Pro Team will grow in the following season with promising players like HEADS on its roster.
