Neon Esports dominates Vice in DPC, qualifies for ONE: Singapore Major


Neon Esports will be going to the Singapore Major following a 2-0 sweep of Vice Esports in the Dota Pro Circuit 2021: S1-Southeast Asia Upper Division, Thursday evening.

Erin Jasper “Yopaj” Ferrer’s Gyrocopter led the way for the Filipinos in Game Two, putting up 14 kills and 14 assists against just two deaths to solidify Neon Esports’ hold of the top spot with a clean 5-0 record.

With the victory, Neon Esports has qualified for the ONE Esports Singapore Major presented by PGL this coming March 27 wherein the top team of the upper division will be going straight to the playoffs while the second and third placer will go through the group stage and wild card phase, respectively.

Southeast Asian Games gold medalist John Anthony “Natsumi-” Vargas’ Medusa backstopped his midlaner with seven kills and 14 assists against a death in the match that lasted for 32 minutes and 59 seconds. Prieme Ejay “PlayHard” Banquil’s Pangolier also played a pivotal role in the Game Two win with a game-high 18 assists laced with eight kills and seven deaths.

On the other hand, Mark Anthony “Bob” Urbina led Vice Esports with four kills, three deaths, and nine assists.

Neon Esports opened up the series with a 45-18 stomp of Vice Esports with Yopaj once again leading the pack. The 19-year-old 10K MMR midlaner registered 13 kills, two deaths, and 20 assists in just 29 minutes of game time.

Hard support Jaunuel “Jaunuel” Arcilla dished out a game-high 28 assists to go along with three kills and six deaths while Natsumi- added 11 kills and 16 assists against one death.

Neon Esports is looking to capture the outright playoff spot in the Singapore Major against Fnatic on Thursday, February 18 while Vice Esports will try to secure their second win against T1 on Wednesday, February 17.
