Mikey Williams is officially a part of TNT.
The highly-touted shooting guard has finally signed a two-year contract, team manager Gabby Cui confirmed to Tiebreaker Times Monday.
The team did not disclose the terms of the deal.
The signing took place after over a month since the Tropang Giga drafted Williams in the 2021 PBA Rookie Draft, since he is still in the United States.
According to a source close to the 29-year-old, he was not able to fly back to the Philippines immediately due to documentation issues.
Cui, however, said that the NBA G-League veteran will fly into the country “as soon as possible.”
Williams is the flagship MVP Group franchise’s no. 4 pick. TNT received it from NLEX through a three-team trade consummated days before the draft.
The Tropa made that big of a move following Ray Parks’ announcement that he will not take part in this upcoming PBA season due to personal reasons.
The former Mighty Sports stalwart will potentially fill that gaping hole left by the 27-year-old, who was a BPC candidate in the last Philippine Cup.
Williams is expected to provide a major boost to a loaded TNT backcourt bannered by star guard Jayson Castro and Roger Pogoy.
