Abra Solid North continues to push forward in the 2025 MPBL Season, bolstering its already formidable roster with key acquisitions during the signing period.
Team manager Christopher Conwi confirmed to Tiebreaker Times that the Weavers have officially signed 6-foot-11 big man Geo Chiu, dynamic guard Mike Ayonayon, and versatile forward Simon Camacho.
The trio is expected to provide a major boost to Abra’s championship aspirations, further solidifying its reputation as one of the deepest teams in the regional pro league.
Chiu, a product of Ateneo, spent his rookie season with Ehime in Japan’s B.League Division 2, where he averaged 3.1 points and 3.2 rebounds for the Orange Vikings.
Ayonayon and Camacho, meanwhile, are making their return to the MPBL.
Ayonayon, the third overall pick in the 2019 PBA Rookie Draft, spent the last four years with Blackwater and previously led San Juan to the MPBL championship in the 2019–20 season.
The 6-foot guard from Antipolo brings scoring and leadership to the backcourt.
Camacho, a 6-foot-5 forward out of Adamson, played the past four seasons with Phoenix in the PBA.
He last suited up in the MPBL with Bacolod Master Sardines during the 2019–20 campaign, showcasing his defensive versatility and hustle.
All three will make their debut on Monday against Quezon City.
The Weavers are currently 14-1 in the North Division, riding an 11-game winning streak.
To make room on the roster, Abra released Paul Desiderio—who played just two games this season—and Yousef Taha, who averaged 3.7 points and 5.7 rebounds across 11 appearances, both of whom have been moved to free agency.
