Adrian Nocum isn’t going anywhere.
The rising star guard on Tuesday signed a fresh three-year extension with Rain or Shine as the franchise clearly wants to build a future with him in tow.
Also present at the signing were agent Danny Espiritu and Elasto Painters governor Atty. Mert Mondragon, as well as team manager Jireh Ibanes.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed, however.
Nonetheless, it’s clear as day how much RoS wants to keep Nocum’s services, no longer waiting for his old contract to expire at the end of this PBA season.
The Mapua product could’ve explored other options, as sources privy to his situation said that a KBL team has been interested in him.
But he deemed it best to stay home by signing a new deal with the team that took a chance on him by taking him at 24th overall in the 2023 Draft.
Since then, the proud son of Tondo has blossomed into one of the league’s most exciting guards because of his athleticism and slashing abilities.
He was named part of the PBA Season 48 All-Rookie Team by the PBA Press Corps after posting norms of 11.7 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 2.8 assists.
Nocum has also played a critical role in the Elasto Painters’ four semifinal trips in as many conferences, including the ongoing Season 49 Philippine Cup.
In fact, he’s one of the semis’ leading scorers as of June 29 with 16.67 points, according to the list provided by PBA chief statistician Fidel Mangonon III.
