Türkiye’s Fire Flux Esports scored their biggest win of the tournament so far after completing a 2-0 sweep of Blacklist International to close the group stage of the M5 World Championship on Thursday at the EVM Convention Center in Quezon City.
Fie Flux and Blacklist both finished with a 2-1 record but the former holds the head-to-head tiebreak courtesy of the win against the latter.
In Game 1, Fire Flux delivered the early surprises after drafting a jungler Leomord that they used to its full potential, running away with a 15-minute win buoyed by a 14-5 kill lead, with the final three deaths conceded to Blacklist only in the final base turret siege.
Sidar “Tienzy” Menteşe went on to finish with a dominating 5-0-8 KDA with the Leomord pick.
Game 2 boiled down to a 23rd minute lord fight where Fire Flux secured the lord and forced a 3-0 pick off that won them the series in one fell swoop.
