Liquid ECHO soars to Jakarta for ESL Snapdragon Pro Series Finals

By: Jan Marcus Montevirgen

Liquid ECHO will fly to Jakarta, Indonesia, to compete in the main stage of the ESL Snapdragon Pro Series Season 5 – Asia Pacific Challenge Finals after topping the Last Chance Qualifier last Sunday.

The reigning MPL Philippines champion posted a dominant 2-0 record in the Last Chance Qualifier to earn a slot in the 12-team Challenge Finals, set to begin on July 28.

Liquid ECHO first defeated Falcon Esports 2-1 to advance to the winner’s match, then overcame a tough Rebellion Esports side 2-1 to clinch a spot in the main draw.

Benedict “Bennyqt” Gonzales played a pivotal role in securing Liquid ECHO’s spot in the Snapdragon Challenge Finals.

Bennyqt’s Beatrix steered Liquid ECHO to a Game 1 win over the Falcons, but Yehtet “KidX” Sithu’s Angela denied the sweep for Falcon Esports, evening the series.

However, another masterclass performance from Bennyqt’s Natan in Game 3 ended the series in just 14 minutes with a stat line of four kills and six assists.

It was a similar story for the M4 World Championship MVP against Rebellion Esports as his Roger scored a massive 11-kill, two-assist performance to give his side a 1-0 lead.

Things got out of hand for the Cavalry in Game 2 as Attanasius “Swaylow” Sihaloho’s Valentina tied up the series 1-1.

Liquid ECHO was on the brink of defeat in Game 3, but Karl “KarlTzy” Nepomuceno (Baxia) stole the Lord in the 16th minute, creating chaos for the Indonesian team, which eventually turned into a victory for the Filipino squad.

The Cavalry now joins Falcons AP.Bren, RSG Philippines, and Smart Omega in the Challenge Finals.
