Mika Reyes delivered the game of her life in the gold medal match of the 2025 Premier Volleyball League On Tour, earning her first-ever Finals Most Valuable Player award.
The 6-foot middle blocker was unstoppable in Sunday’s winner-take-all finale, powering PLDT to its maiden PVL crown with a gritty 25-17, 25-17, 19-25, 24-26, 15-8 victory over Chery Tiggo at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.
Reyes unleashed a career-best 20-point performance built on 13-of-24 attacks and seven monster blocks, anchoring the High Speed Hitters’ breakthrough championship run.
More importantly, she rose to the occasion when PLDT needed her most.
After yielding the third and fourth sets and staring at the threat of a reverse sweep, Reyes took charge. She fired four crucial points in the deciding frame, teaming up with fellow middle Majoy Baron to lift PLDT to the historic win.
The Finals MVP plum marks Reyes’ first individual accolade at the professional level and her first recognition since being named Best Middle Blocker in the 2022 PVL Invitational Conference.
