RC Cola-Army’s starting open hitter Rachel Daquis sat out much of their five-set loss to the Foton Tornadoes after an awkward attack approach in the first set.
According to Army’s physical therapist Paula Tomas, the Golden Ticket holder wore out the heel and calf of her left foot after consecutive long matches. Before this five-setter, Army had lost back-to-back matches to the F2 Logistics Cargo Movers over the weekend, one of which had also been a five-setter.
“Sobrang tight kasi ng calf niya. Ang possible reason noon is ‘yung sa approach niya,” Army’s team doctor said.
“Kanina nung pag approach niya, pag push-off niya, may na-feel siyang pitik. Parang may napunit.
Daquis declined to comment on her injury, but she managed to walk out of the De La Salle Lipa Sentrum on her own.
