Trisha Tubu delivered a career-best performance to power Farm Fresh past Galeries Tower in four sets, 28-26, 17-25, 25-19, 25-17, in the 2024-25 Premier Volleyball League All-Filipino Conference on Thursday at the Philsports Arena.
Tubu exploded for 33 points on 28 attacks, four aces, and one block — surpassing her previous PVL career-high of 32 points set against Choco Mucho on April 24, 2024. Her dominant outing propelled the Foxies to a 4-4 record.
The night also marked a special moment for veteran Rachel Daquis, who made her much-anticipated Farm Fresh debut and PVL comeback after exactly 551 days away from the sport.
Daquis entered the match late in the tightly-contested first set and registered her first point midway through the second.
“Sabi ko lang maglaro lang sila. ‘Yun ‘yung instruction actually going here. Galing sa talo kasi, so we need to get back those confidence,” said Foxies head coach Benson Bocboc.
“Sabi ko wala akong pake doon sa numbers na ilalabas niyo, maglaro lang kayo, magtulong-tulong lang kayo.
“So na-activate natin si Rachel ngayon, so handa naman siya. Eventually, more and more time on the court pa. Darating ‘yan pakonti-konti. Okay naman in general, naninibago pa pero at least nakuha natin ‘yung panalo,” he added.
After dominating the third set, Farm Fresh carried their momentum into the fourth, building an 18-11 lead behind Tubu, Alyssa Bertolano, and Jolina Dela Cruz.
However, the Highrisers fought back, capitalizing on a string of Foxies errors to spark a 5-1 rally that trimmed the deficit to just two, 16-18.
Dela Cruz ended the drought with an off-the-block attack, followed by three consecutive Galeries miscues that pushed the lead back to seven, 23-16. From there, Tubu took charge, hammering back-to-back kills to seal the victory.
Bertolano contributed 11 points, 12 excellent receptions, and seven digs, while Dela Cruz finished with 10 points, all from attacks. Team captain Louie Romero orchestrated the offense with 19 excellent sets.
Farm Fresh will take on PLDT next, scheduled for Tuesday at 4:00 PM at the same venue.
On the other hand, Galeries Tower suffered their third straight loss, dropping to 1-7.
Ysa Jimenez led the Highrisers with 15 points, while Andrea Marzan and France Ronquillo chipped in 10 and nine, respectively.
Galeries will attempt to snap its skid against Nxled on February 8 at 4:00 PM.
