Dale heads to Myanmar, signs with Falcon

Former MPL Philippines head coach Steven “Dale” Vitug has signed with Myanmar’s Falcon Esports, the organization announced last Thursday.

Falcon Esports turned heads during the 2022 Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Southeast Asia Cup after topping Group A where they took down ONIC Esports via sweep while also yielding a draw against Todak.

In the playoffs, the Burmese squad was immediately sent down the lower bracket after facing RSG PH but eventually reached the lower bracket semifinals where they got eliminated by Omega Esports.

Falcon Esports ended the tournament at fourth place.

Dale, meanwhile, last coached ECHO back in the MPL Philippines Season Eight.

His most successful stint in the league was during Season Six where he led Omega Esports to a top two finish while also earning a slot in the M2 World Championships. Dale steered the SMART-backed squad to a fifth-sixth place finish in the world meet.

Dale also played a vital role in the Philippines’ gold medal quest in the 2019 Southeast Asian Games in Manila.
