Falcons AP. Bren secures MSC playoff berth with undefeated group stage run

By: Jan Marcus Montevirgen

Falcons AP. Bren clinched a spot in the 2024 Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Mid-Season Cup (MSC) playoffs on Sunday in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

The former MPL Philippines champions finished strong in Group D, remaining undefeated with a clean 3-0-0 record, sweeping Cloud9 and Falcon Esports, 2-0.

This followed a two-game victory over China’s Xianyou Gaming last Wednesday.

Also advancing in Group D is Myanmar’s Falcon Esports, which boasted a 2-1-0 record.

In Game 1 against Cloud9, Falcons AP. Bren heavily relied on the guidance of Rowgien “Owgwen” Unigo’s Minotaur and Kyle “KyleTzy” Samson’s Hayabusa stepping into the frontlines, paving the way for an early 14-minute victory with a 16-7 kill score.

Owgwen and KyleTzy finished strong with a KDA of 10 assists and two deaths, and 11 kills, two assists, and one death, respectively.

Game 2 was a different story, as both teams were cautious in every team fight, resulting in a low-scoring game.

However, the match went down to the wire, culminating in a 16th-minute Maniac by Marco “Super Marco” Requitano’s Roger in the mid-lane, enabling FCAP to end the series and dash Cloud9’s dreams of advancing to the next round.

In the final group stage match against Falcon Esports, FCAP showed dominance throughout Game 1, finishing the game in 11 minutes and 41 seconds with a lopsided 18-2 score.

Game 2 was no different, as the Filipinos remained victorious, showing no sweat in the group stage ender.

With the group stage over, it’s time for the next round, the Knockouts Stage, which will be in a best-of-five format, while the Grand Finals will be a seven-game series.
