Team Falcons continued to pick up steam, handing Twisted Minds its third-straight defeat, 2-0, in the MPL Philippines Season 15, Saturday evening at the Green Sun Hotel in Makati City.
Following a forgettable debut loss to Team Liquid PH, Team Falcons have now won three in a row to improve its standing to 3-1.
Timely pickoffs from Rowgien “Owgwen” Unigo (Jawhead) and Charles David “FlapTzy” Canon (Chou) defined the series-clinching Game 2, as they paved the way for Kyle “KyleTzy” Sayson (Joy) and Stephen “Super Marco” Requitiano (Irithel) to run berserk.
Twisted Minds, who opted for a Hanzo pick, had no answer to Team Falcons’ aggressive playstyle in the second match, which lasted less than 15 minutes.
Super Marco posted a team-high nine kills to go along with two assists, while KyleTzy tallied a 7-1-6 KDA line. The duo of Owgwen and FlapTzy, meanwhile, registered a combined total of 24 assists in the dominant 20-7 Game 2 win.
“Tingin ko sa series na ‘to, nakauna lang kami. Naka-early lang kami tapos na-maximize namin ‘yung mga errors nila, kaya sobrang nahirapan sila sa amin,” said Team Falcons head coach Robert “Trebor” Sanchez.
It was almost the same story in the opener, with Team Falcons taking a 10-4 Game 1 win in 15 minutes. Super Marco’s Granger, who was the star of the show in the team’s huge win over ONIC PH last night, led the win with four kills and three assists.
Team Falcons look to extend its winning run to four games on Friday, 7:30 PM, against TNC.
On the other hand, Twisted Minds, who tried to switch things up by inserting Jomarie “Escalera” Santos to the starting unit, dropped to 0-3 to start its MPL Philippines debut.
Twisted Minds takes on TNC as well tomorrow at 5:00 PM in hopes of securing its first win of the tournament.
