OHEB makes statement in Team Liquid debut, crushes Team Falcons in MPL PH 15 debut

By: Jan Marcus Montevirgen

Kiel “OHEB” Soriano made a grand entrance in his Team Liquid Philippines debut, spearheading a dominant 2-0 sweep over Team Falcons in MPL Philippines Season 15 on Saturday at the Green Sun Hotel in Makati.

The former world champion wasted no time showcasing his firepower, delivering a flawless Game 2 performance on Harith with six kills, five assists, and zero deaths.

With OHEB leading the charge, TLPH dictated the pace from start to finish, closing out the series in just 12 minutes and 32 seconds to mark their arrival in commanding fashion.

With the victory, TLPH improves to 1-0 in the standings, joining Aurora and ONIC Philippines at the top.

“Yung kagaya lang yung sa pinag-practice namin, yun lang yung pinakita namin kanina. Di namin sila minaliit. Mas nag-practice lang talaga kami ng todo para sa kanila,” said head coach Rodel “Arsy” Cruz during the post-match interview.

TLPH’s Game 2 dominance left Team Falcons struggling to find any momentum, as they failed to secure a single objective throughout the match.

Game 1, however, was a much tighter contest, with both teams engaging in relentless skirmishes for the first six minutes.

The momentum shifted when Marco “Super Marco” Requitiano (Karrie) dismantled three towers in just one minute, putting TLPH in the driver’s seat.

Despite Team Falcons’ early map control, it was the Granger-Mathilda duo of OHEB and Jaypee “Jaypee” Dela Cruz that set the tone, dictating the pace of the match.

Jaypee played a crucial role throughout the 18-minute, 34-second battle, providing TLPH with much-needed sustain in every clash.

The turning point came when Karl “KarlTzy” Nepomuceno (Alpha) secured the Lord, moments before OHEB’s Maniac shattered FLCN’s defenses as they scrambled to protect their base.

OHEB’s performance on Granger earned him MVP honors, finishing with a KDA of eight kills, one death, and four assists.

Meanwhile, KarlTzy and Jaypee combined for two kills, three deaths, and 26 assists.

With the loss, Team Falcons falls to 0-1, joining TNC Pro Team and Twisted Minds at the bottom of the standings.

Looking ahead, Team Liquid PH will aim for back-to-back wins when they face Twisted Minds on Sunday at 7:30 PM at the same venue.

Meanwhile, Team Falcons will look to bounce back against Smart Omega at 5:00 PM, also at the Green Sun Hotel.
