Just as it was for the majority of the 2021-22 B.League season, Kiefer Ravena and Shiga were dealt a razor-thin loss.
The Lakestars fell to the Shinshu Brave Warriors, 82-86, to end their campaign, Sunday at Ukaru-chan Arena.
Up by as many as nine points in the game, Yuta Okada and the Brave Warriors chopped the lead in the second half, eventually gaining an 83-75 lead with 1:10 left.
Though Ravena and Novar Gadson tried to give Shiga one last run, Wayne Marshall and Okada made the right plays in the endgame to stun the home crowd.
Ravena and Gadson scored all but two of the Lakestars’ 17 fourth quarter points.
Ravena finished the game with 20 points, 11 rebounds, and six assists while Gadson got 25 points, 10 rebounds, and six assists. Reon Shibuta added 14 points while Sean O’Mara tallied 12 points and nine rebounds.
Shiga ended its season with a 14-43 record, losing its last nine games.
Shinshu, meanwhile, finishes their season with a 28-26 slate — fifth place in the west.
Ko Kumagai produced 23 points, seven rebounds, and six assists for the Brave Warriors while Okada fired 19 points from off the bench duties. Marshall also had 19 points and 10 rebounds.
Matthew Aquino, who did not play in the game, will come back to Shinshu next season.
