The next generation of Lady Bullpups, set to succeed National University’s golden generation, has officially committed to the program, the team announced on Wednesday.
Leading the charge is UAAP Season 87 Girls’ Volleyball MVP Sam Cantada, who was among five players who formalized their commitment in the presence of school officials, including NU chairman Hans Sy.
Also in attendance were NU athletic director Otie Camangian, team manager Bing See Diet, and head coach Sherwin Meneses.
Joining Cantada in committing are open hitter Den Daylisan, opposite spiker Harlyn Serneche, and the middle blocker duo of Kate Dela Peña and Jenelyn Jacob.
Cantada, the 5-foot-7 outside spiker from Adamson, tallied 180 points last season, built on 134 attacks at a 34.01% efficiency rate, 14 blocks, and a league-best 32 service aces. She also ranked seventh among receivers with a 20.57% efficiency rate.
Notably, she served as an import for the NU Nazareth School during its golden run in the 2025 Palarong Pambansa.
Meanwhile, Daylisan, Serneche, Jacob, and Dela Peña have chosen to stay with the NU program.
Serneche, standing at 5-foot-9, was last season’s Finals MVP, while the 5-foot-7 Daylisan earned recognition as the second-best outside spiker.
They were also among the league’s top scorers, with Daylisan posting 191 points and Serneche close behind with 179.
Jacob, on the other hand, emerged as the league’s fifth-best blocker.
With the departure of the golden generation, a new chapter begins for National University — the silver age is ready to rise.
