The Abra Solid North Weavers subdued the Pasay Voyagers, 68-51, on Friday at the Pasay Astrodome to erase memories of a painful defeat at the same venue.
Abra suffered its lone loss of the 2025 campaign against Pasay, 70-60, on March 19 before reeling off 36 straight victories en route to sweeping the North Division title over Pangasinan and capturing the national championship against South Division winner Quezon Province.
The defending champions have since won 11 straight games after a 66-58 setback to the San Juan Knights on May 2. With a 13-1 record in the single-round elimination phase, the Weavers trail only the Caloocan Batang Kankaloo (14-1) in the North Division standings.
Both teams battled through a defensive first half, with Abra taking a slim 29-25 lead into the break.
Back-to-back three-pointers from Jake Figueroa and Mike Ayonayon fueled a decisive 12-point run that stretched the Weavers’ advantage to 48-28, putting the game out of Pasay’s reach.
Former National University standout Jake Figueroa finished with 11 points, nine rebounds, and three assists, while John Uduba posted 11 points and 11 rebounds. Reigning MVP Dave Ildefonso also scored 11 points and grabbed six rebounds.
Shaun Ildefonso earned Best Player of the Game honors after tallying 10 points—six of them in the fourth quarter—along with seven rebounds.
Pasay slipped to 9-8, with no Voyager reaching double figures. Lean Martel led the team with eight points, while Christian Fajarito and Mark Parks added seven each.
In the second game, the Ilagan Isabela Cowboys defeated the Bacolod MassKaras, 107-90, to improve to 10-6.
Arth Dela Cruz led the Cowboys with 16 points, 12 rebounds, and two assists, while Robby Celiz contributed 14 points, seven rebounds, and four assists. Mer Jesper Ayaay and Allen Mina chipped in 11 points apiece as Ilagan Isabela built a commanding 96-69 lead midway through the fourth quarter.
Although Bacolod knocked down 11 of its 20 attempts from beyond the arc, the Cowboys dominated inside with a 32-19 edge in two-point field goals and displayed better ball movement, finishing with 33 assists compared to the MassKaras’ 21.
Bacolod dropped to 3-15 despite Desmond Price’s game-high 39 points, four rebounds, and two steals. Jeremy Monton added 10 points, four rebounds, and three assists.
In the opener, the Gensan Warriors pounded the paint and routed the Imus Yangkee, 124-94, to remain atop the South Division with a 14-2 record.
Exploiting their size advantage, the Warriors dominated the rebounding battle, 51-39, and outscored Imus, 86-38, in points in the paint.
All 13 players fielded by Gensan scored at least four points as the Warriors handed Imus its 13th loss in 15 games.
New acquisition Ashon Andrews, a 6-foot-4 forward from the Mindoro Tamaraws, earned Best Player of the Game honors after recording 19 points, highlighted by back-to-back dunks to close the contest, along with nine rebounds, three steals, and two assists.
Marwin Dionisio, Mark Cruz, and Nelo Santos each scored 12 points, while Adi Santos and JM Versoza added 10 apiece for Gensan.
Imus drew 21 points and seven rebounds from Noel Santos, while Joseph Mark Marquez contributed 12 points, five rebounds, and two assists. Jordan Rios had 11 points, seven rebounds, and three assists, while Justine Padua chipped in 10 points and three rebounds.
The tournament resumes on Saturday at the Caloocan Sports Complex, with Sarangani taking on San Juan at 4 p.m., Quezon City facing Parañaque at 6 p.m., and Quezon Province battling Caloocan at 8 p.m.
