Creamline cruises to sweep, stays unbeaten in PVL Invitationals

Creamline completely overwhelmed Ho Chi Minh City, allowing the Vietnamese side just six points in the third set en route to a 25-18, 25-16, 25-6 sweep in the 2026 Premier Volleyball League Invitational Conference on Tuesday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Coming off a 25-20, 25-23, 23-25, 25-20 victory over Nxled on Monday, Creamline carried its momentum into another dominant showing to improve to 2-0 and emerge as the tournament’s last unbeaten team.

The Cool Smashers imposed their will from the get-go, overwhelming Ho Chi Minh City on the attack, 49-19, as they never allowed the Vietnamese side to find its footing throughout the match.

Creamline also dominated at the net, 11-3, while holding a 5-3 advantage in aces to complete the one-sided victory in just 61 minutes.

“Syempre, sobrang saya, lalo na nung third set, kasi kahapon medyo ‘yung third set namin, medyo hindi ganun ka-smooth,” said Cool Smashers head coach Sherwin Meneses, referring to their performance in the third set against the Chameleons on Monday.

“Kaya ‘yun nga, nag-improve kami nung third set. Talagang, kumbaga, lesson sa amin na maging maganda ‘yung laro namin nung third set. Nagtutulungan talaga ‘yung players para makuha ‘yung panalo,” he added.

Creamline opened the third set with a 10-0 run and eventually stretched its lead to 18-1, putting the match well out of Ho Chi Minh City’s reach.

Jaja Santiago-Minowa, who exploded for a game-best 19 points in Creamline’s debut win, followed it up with 12 points in the victory.

Jema Galanza and Tots Carlos matched Santiago-Minowa’s output with 12 points apiece, with Galanza also tallying 10 excellent digs and six excellent receptions.
