There was no sugarcoating from ONIC Philippines coach Tony “Ynot” Senedrin after his team’s rough outing — a one-sided 2-0 sweep handed down by AP.Bren.
“I think they’re (AP.Bren) very prepared. Draft-wise din alam nilang ipaprioritize namin yung hero ni K1NGKONG so they prepared a set-up na komportable sila. Kitang-kita na medyo malaya yung mga galaw nila,” said Ynot, highlighting AP.Bren’s impressive preparation.
“Apart from that, I feel like this is the weirdest and poorest performance that we’ve had simula nung magsama-sama kami. Daming what ifs kanina to be honest. Pero overall for AP.Bren, from coaching staff to players, maganda yung pinakita nila,” he added.
ONIC looked visibly outmatched against AP.Bren, who built leads of up to 10,000 gold en route to a dominant sweep. The loss capped a difficult Week 6 for ONIC, which, after stringing together four straight wins earlier in the season, stumbled to back-to-back defeats that dropped them to third place.
Ynot acknowledged that adjustments must be made if the team is to stabilize heading into the decisive stretch of the season.
“It’s tight to be honest (playoff race). Not to discredit AP.Bren, looking at my players right now over the past few days, over the past week, siguro meron kaming problema na kailangan namin masolba,” he said.
Despite the setback, ONIC still controls its own destiny. Its key matchups ahead could determine whether it secures a coveted upper-bracket slot or risks sliding further down the standings.
The veteran coach, however, remains optimistic that his squad can bounce back, noting that adversity has always been part of ONIC’s journey.
“It’s gonna be hard to take in, but as professionals we really need to step up our game, step up our mentality and magpatibay,” he concluded.
