KarlTzy eyes third M-series crown after toughest season yet

By: George Torno

Karl “KarlTzy” Nepomuceno let out a long, relieved breath as he celebrated another championship with Team Liquid PH, calling it the most grueling season of his career.

In an exclusive interview with Tiebreaker Times, the veteran jungler reflected on the journey that led them to the grand finals.

For KarlTzy, simply making it to the championship stage and earning the chance to represent the Philippines internationally was already a major triumph — securing a back-to-back title was just the cherry on top.

“Sobrang saya lang, hindi ko na nga alam kung anong mararamdaman ko eh kasi ginawa ko talaga yung best ko,” he said.

“Feel ko ito yung season na pinakamahirap para sa akin, kahit na 4-0. Kasi sobrang dami namin pinagdaanan, tapos galing pa kami ng lower bracket, tapos yung mga kalaban talaga ngayon hindi na talaga biro,” he added.

Looking back on his international career, KarlTzy has maintained an impeccable record in the M-Series. He won both previous appearances — first with Bren Esports in M2 and then with ECHO in M4.

Now entering his third M-Series run, the young GOAT is keeping his eyes on M7, ready to tackle whatever challenges await and hopeful the Philippines can claim its sixth world title.

“Wala naman added pressure. Sobrang ginagalingan lang din namin kaya nananalo kami, and tingin ko kailangan lang namin maging consistent,” he said.

Despite accumulating an impressive list of accolades, KarlTzy remains grounded, choosing to focus on his performance rather than future expectations. The back-to-back championship has only fueled his desire for more.

“Masaya, gusto ko nalang ulit-ulitin kung kaya pa, nakakatuwa din at tsaka sana makuha ko na yung pangatlong worlds,” he said.

Looking ahead, KarlTzy feels particularly excited for the world championship in Jakarta, Indonesia, where the support from local fans and the vibrant culture make the experience even more memorable.

“Sobrang natutuwa and nae-excite ako lalo na sa Indonesia, sobrang dami din kasi namin supporter dun tapos sobrang sarap ng din kasi ng pagkain dun eh,” he shared.
