Yeny Murillo sees something special in Farm Fresh despite challenging start

Yeny Murillo has been part of many teams across different countries, but finds Farm Fresh to be truly unique.

Murillo, the Foxies’ import for the 2024 Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference, praised her team for their perseverance and hard work despite losing their first two games.

After dropping matches against Chery Tiggo in a sweep and Creamline in four sets, Farm Fresh finally secured their first win in Pool A on Tuesday afternoon.

They earned a hard-fought 25-22, 35-37, 23-25, 25-20, 15-10 victory over Galeries Tower.

“You know, I have been with many teams before, and I’ve seen that after one or two losses, teams often start to falter,” said the 25-year-old Colombian outside hitter.

“But instead of that, this team keeps improving and shows me that they really want to become better and be better players,” she continued.

Despite being just 25 years old, Murillo is already a seasoned athlete. She began her career in the United States, playing for Arizona Western College and Grand Canyon University during her collegiate years.

She then turned professional in Greece with AO Thiras, before moving to Municipal Olympique Mougins Volley-Ball in France. Her journey continued in Cyprus (Anorthosis Famagusta), followed by Czechia (TJ Sokol Frydek-Mistek), and back to France (Rennes EC).

After finally earning a win to move to 1-2 in Pool A, Murillo believes this will motivate the Foxies to prove themselves even more.

They will complete their first-round schedule against Nxled and PLDT before advancing to the next round.

There, the top three teams from each pool will face the bottom three teams from the other pool.
