Gerry Abadiano is set to join an elite list of Filipinos taking their talents overseas.
The 5-foot-11 guard from the University of the Philippines has signed with Ulsan Hyundai Mobis for the 2026-27 Korean Basketball League season, with the club officially announcing the acquisition.
The 25-year-old Iloilo City native becomes the fourth Filipino Asian import to suit up for the Phoebus, following RJ Abarrientos, Miguel Oczon, and Jake Figueroa.
Abadiano secured clearance from San Juan, his current Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League team, to pursue the opportunity in South Korea.

In his final UAAP campaign with the Fighting Maroons, Abadiano served as UP’s starting lead guard, averaging 8.72 points, 1.94 rebounds, and 1.56 assists per game in Season 88.
He has also been productive in the MPBL, where he is averaging 9.6 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 1.9 assists through 14 games.
His move to the KBL also marks the end of an era for UP’s longtime core, as he parts ways with longtime teammates Harold Alarcon, Reyland Torres, and Terrence Fortea.
The Phoebus are looking to bounce back after finishing eighth in the KBL last season with an 18-36 record.
