UAAP extends suspension to March 17, to meet on future of Season 82

The Board of Managing Directors of the University Athletic Association of the Philippines has unanimously decided to extend the suspension of all its events until Tuesday, March 17.

This to give every member of the community ample time to adjust to the current situation regarding the coronavirus (COVID-19).

The league is taking things day-by-day and will have another announcement regarding the future of UAAP Season 82 on Monday, March 16.

Monday evening, President Rodrigo Roa Duterte declared a State of Public Health Emergency because of the increasing cases of COVID-19 in the country.

Earlier, the league suspended all its events from March 10 to 14.

Affected events so far are Collegiate Volleyball, Collegiate Football, Collegiate Softball, Collegiate Baseball, and High School Girls’ Basketball.

The league also calls on everyone to stay safe amid these trying times.
