SMART CLARK GIGA CITY — All coaches and staff members of PBA teams have the responsibility to look decent during games. Not doing so merits a punishment.
And TNT’s hardworking staffers learned that the hard way.
In an Instagram story by beloved Gilas staff member Bong Tulabot, he posted that he, along with fellow TNT staffers Bong Lozano and Ricardo Santos, received a P1,000 bill from the league’s office for wearing shorts during TNT’s game against Northport last November 3.
“During the TNT Tropang Giga-Northport Batang Pier game of November 3, 2020 at the AUF Gym, you were observed wearing shorts while on duty as TNT personnel. This is in violation of the PBA dress code,” read the league’s letter to them dated November 4.
“In view hereof, you are hereby FINED the amount of ONE THOUSAND PESOS (P1,000.00) which shall be remitted to this Office within fifteen days upon receipt hereof.”
TNT won the game, 112-87.
Tulabot put a “first time fine as TNT staff” as a caption.
The league’s dress code clearly states that PBA coaches and all other team personnel must not be seen wearing shorts during games. Jogger pants are allowed by the league.
“Let this serve as a warning that a repetition of the same shall merit a heftier fine,” the statement closed.
